Rory Coleman

Rory Coleman

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – NEURAL SCIENCE & BIOLOGY

Rory graduated from the University of Connecticut before journeying to New York to study the epigenetic control of Hox genes with Gary Struhl at Columbia. He moved across fields and town to investigate the circuit basis for species-specific mate discrimination with Vanessa Ruta at Rockefeller University. The Coleman lab opened in 2025 with support from an NIH Pathway to Independence Award. When not in lab Rory can usually be found exploring the parks and playgrounds of New York with his family and dog.
